Kunst

Dear readers,

Today I worked further on another 1/1 canvas.

It turned out really greyish and black – much too dark, but it is only one layer further in the line. Slowly I am learning not to worry about ‘spoiling’ it. Tomorrow I can simply put a lot of titanium white on it again!

Bye!

Simone

    Hi Dotty!
    Thanks for your questions.
Yes: these containers are ‘study grade paints’. I use Talens Amsterdam, I don’t know if they sell them in the states, but I am sure every other brand works too.

Since my workspace is very, very small (no space for an easel) I put the canvases against the window in the roof, and i sit on my chair (on the lowest position). Very uncomfortable. I have to find a solution for that. Working on the ground is also very uncomfortable – very bad for your back…

I would love a big studio – but I have to find another solution, or just stumble on like this ;-)

Simone, I love seeing your journey through these new large pieces! Observation: if I’m going to paint large canvases, I can see that I’ll need to buy paint in larger containers! Questions: What size/brand paints do I see on the floor beside your canvas? How do you work on your large canvases—do you sit on a chair? stand? kneel on the floor?
