Today I explored the idea of giving myself some parameters, and working within them. As I thought about it yesterday. So I went along on the same path: I painted on A4-paper, simple copy-paper, and I only used black, white and Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold,, and markers, pencil and white/black/grey/brown/olive green pastels.
So I kept the colours really simple. I liked to work on it!
I liked today to work like this. Very simple, with a simple assignment. And while I think that things get easily boring – it is not.
This exploration of yours invites ME to explore—my eyes travel all over the page noticing color, contrast, shape, repetition, and mark making. Also noticing both places where the painting feels spontaneous and where it feels more intentional. I like the energy of the quin gold.
