Kunst

Lieve lezers,

Zelfde format als gisteren: 20/20 cm, maar een paar aardekleuren, plantenspuit. Leuk!

een fijne dag,

Simone

Dear readers,

The same format as yesterday: 8/8 inch, earth colours and a spraybottle. I like it!

have a nice day!

Simone

Simone, thanks for answers to my questions. You even answered ones I had in mind but hadn’t written to you! I was wondering about the drops of color, and now I think I understand that they occur when you spray really hard. Fun! It was also fun to find out about the brown smaller circles and how you created them. I love that you are planning to make a whole series of this. Even more, I love that you will do so because it is new for you and you are filled with so much curiosity about what the paint is doing. What is the brand of the thick gray pencil you use?

      Hi Dotty!
The brand of the gray pencil: no idea. I have it already since ages.
I checked out what the name is in English: ‘the refillable lead pencil ; the propelling pencil’.
You fill it with a thick lead ‘stick’ which you can buy in art supplies stores in different sizes (I guess).

    Hi Dotty!

Thanks. I am also quite pleased how this all works out! It is really fun and surprising anytime, because the things that I do (spraying, letting the paint drip) I can’t really control. When I spray really hard the drops splash around – and you can see that too in the painting! My working table gets really wet!
The brown smaller circles are drops of nickel azo gold (golden) right out of the bottle. And then sprayed over…
I am planning to make a whole series of this. Because this is all new for me it is interesting to see what the paint is doing.

The scribbles are with a thick grey pencil (a pen that you can fill with a thick pencilstick – am I clear?), and I use my dominant hand. The non-dominant hand might be even better.

    bye!

Simone, your paintings continue to fascinate me! I like the earth colors, the drips, the spray bottle, the scribbles, the feeling you’ve created of sunlight shining through from the background. When you do crayon “scribbles”—for example the gray (black?) ones above—do you use your dominant or your non-dominant hand?
