Dear readers,
Today I worked further on yesterday’s theme (‘water’). This time on better paper. First I wanted to cut and gesso my good old wall paper, to lower the costs, but I really did not like al the cutting and measuring and getting the angles straight and so on.
So I took my 200 gram paper-block, but it does not work as well as the wallpaper. The wallpaper does not curl and stays straight. So I keep on experimenting.
Up till now I like experimenting with a theme. It gives me ideas, for instance for the linework.
I find it fascinating that I seem to be a little bit reluctant to paint recognizable shapes. What is this??? Is this me being a snob? Do I find more realistic shapes not interesting enough? Am I afraid to be boring and simple?
If you look well you see some watercreatures, microbes, plants. I like drawing them!
have a nice day,
Simone
Hi Dotty!
Thank you! Not sure what ‘trailblazing’ is: I guess creating a path?
I also like the explorations, but the questions remain…
Simone, I like your experimenting—I’m always grateful for your trailblazing in that regard. And I like your questions and internal explorations. And I like the watery turquoises. Many gifts. Thanks!
