Today I worked on the finishing stage of the big red painting (1/1 meter). I painted the sides (red), and I started with some details.
I am reminded of Nicholas Wilton’s remarks on his artblog about ‘the loud conversation’ versus the ‘quiet conversation’. The loud conversation is when you look at the bigger design of the painting. And the quiet conversation is when you stand really close with your nose on the canvas, and see what is going on there. He says that both have to be in balance, and I agree.
Today I was with my nose on the canvas ;-)

For me it is also fun to see this painting evolve.
And I am looking forward very much to do the ‘finishing touch’, the small crayon and pencil-lines that I want to add.
Today made me realize that it will still need quite a bit of time to finish this one.
Simone, what a gift to watch this painting grow and change. I love the loud conversation and the quiet conversation. So much to see and explore here, and such a lovely energy coming from the colors.
