Dear readers,
Today I worked in my art journal. It is magical how an art journl works. In one way it is very unpretentious. No finished work, the products are bound in a book, you can’t tear them out, because the paper is not thick enough to use for selling or so.
But on the other hand: it creates continuity: because the paintings are following on each other (sorry, that is ‘Dutchish’ probably. it becomes a whole, something you can go through and see them as one thing in time. I really like that combination very much.
bye,
Simone
Thanks for all your poetic words!
You give me great ideas! I will write more about them to you.
bye!
Simone
Simone, your art journal really is magical. It offers one image at a time but also continuity and flow, an unfolding visual story. I am reminded of the way I read poetry, when I do, which isn’t terribly often: I read one poem per day. Each poem needs space around it to be itself and offer its fullness. Over time, the accumulation of one poem after another offers up a second and different fullness. The two interact with each other to a wonderful richness. The same thing is taking place with your journal; in addition to the fun of each individual painting, there is the added fun of knowing that if I turn pages back to the left I see the already-completed pages, but to the right, nothing yet, which creates magnificent anticipation.
