Kunst

Dear readers,

Today I worked further on the assignment of Jane Davies (see for the assignment on my blog of 14 september).

I worked with negative shapes today. I made paper shapes, put them on the painting and painted around them. After that I used white and black crayon.

bye!

Simone

I am humbled and surprised again and again by what turns out to be ‘not easy’ for me! I suspect, in some ways, for me, the ‘not easy’ has little to do with the actual painting and more to do with unconscious holding back instead of letting go of ‘control’ and leaning in to mystery. Ever onward!

Love the playfulness and unfussy nature of these pieces—they invite me to “lighten up.” I got really bogged down yesterday but now I feel more open and exploratory after seeing your paintings. Thank you!

I was struggling a little bit with those (not too much…). The paintings of yesterday were REALLY easy for me, but this negative-shape-thing is not as easy as it seems…
