Lieve lezers,
Gisteren kreeg ik een fijn ‘comment’ op dit weblog van Madeleine (ik kende haar niet), dat ze mijn werk ‘visceral’ vond. Ik wist niet wat dat betekende, dus heb het opgezocht.
Nu blijken de ‘viscera’ de ingewanden te zijn. Visceral betekent zoiets als ‘vanuit de ingewanden’, diep, intens, non-rationeel, diepgeworteld, instinctief, emotioneel, fysiek.
Dankjewel, Madeleine! Ik beschouw dat als een groot compliment…
Vandaag weer verder met de 20/20 centimeter.
Net als gisteren meende ik vaag wat figuratievers te ontwaren dan ik lang heb gemaakt. Iets van een ‘beest’ of ‘organisme’.
We zullen zien waar dit toe leidt!

Yesterday I received a nice ‘comment’ on this weblog from Madeleine (did not know her until her comment), that she found my work ‘visceral’. I did not know what that meant, so I looked it up in the dictionairy.
Now it appears that the ‘viscera’ are the intestines. Visceral means ‘from the gut’, deep, intense, non-rational, deeply rooted, instinctive, emotional, physical.
Thank you, Madeleine! I consider that a big compliment!
Today we continue with the 20/20 centimeters.
Like yesterday, IÂ vaguely discerned some figurative things in the painting. Something of a ‘beast’ or ‘organism’.
We’ll see where this is going!
