Dear readers,
Today I finished the last one in the series of four red/yellow/blue.
Yesterday I learned something interesting (from a book of Flora Bowley: ‘Brave Intuitive Painting’).
There is something like a ‘triadic colour scheme’. If you use three colours that are in a triangle in the colour wheel, you get a sort of ‘balanced’ colour scheme in your painting. For instance: red/yellow/blue (the three primaries), or ‘orange/purple/green’.
Never thought about it that way. But I intuitively already like to use ‘something yellowish, something reddish, something blueish.’ (like in this painting above). I could try the next time something orangeish, something purpleish, something greenish.
Bye!
Simone

Hi Dotty,
Hope you had a really nice traveling time!
Yes, an I am looking forward to the development of these paintings too;-)
Hi Simone, I have been away for a few days but now I get to see what you’ve been up to while I was traveling! In the painting above I especially like the many “milky” places. Thanks for the discussion of a triadic color scheme; I like getting little snippets of information of that sort to digest.
I’m also having fun watching you develop three larger pieces! I’m eager to see their continuing evolution.
