Kunst

Dear reader,

Today I worked on a small painting of 20/30 cm, with the idea in mind that it would be fun to work on a painting AS IF it was a detail. When I photograph a painting I always make pictures of details, and I usually like those close-ups better.

So now I thought: why not use this bigger shapes and bolder lines in my painting?

So I cut out  a piece of black silk paper, which really makes a ‘statement’, and glued it on a layer of Quinodridone nickel Azo Gold. After that acrylics and crayon.

Nice!

Gives me ideas to walk this path further.

Bye!

Simone

      Hartelijke groet!

Silk paper is really thin, crispy paper, it wrinkles easily. Oh no: I think it is called tissue paper in English. In Dutch it is ‘zijdepapier’.

I will miss our conversations too. I might be posting on Instagram (maybe posting older work, don’t know yet). But I will not have wifi for quite a time, so that is a good thing! And maybe I will paint tomorrow.

I am looking forward to your 75/75 cm (that is BIG) painting!

    See you!

I love that you were able to scale up so easily and successfully. Love this painting! What is silk paper?

You give ME ideas to walk this path also! I am currently in the funny spot with my 30/30 inch canvas where I’m itchy to work on something else BUT I also want to bring the 30/30 to resolution. As soon as it is resolved, though, I think I want to play with smaller SPEEDIER paintings. Your smaller pieces are so enticing.

After today, you’ll be taking a vacation from painting, yes? I will miss you! I will miss seeing new work every day!
