Dear readers,
Today I worked further on the two canvases of 100/100 cm. A second layer in blues, greens, black and white.
I really enjoyed it! I liked the new colour (teal), and I have another new cool thing: white spray paint! (maybe you can see it in the picture. The white circle is in spray paint. I carved in it while the black paint underneath was still wet).
I have to experiment with it. (I was inspired to use spray paint by Danish artist Mette Lindberg, who uses spray paint quite a lot).
I am now considering buying something new: a fine line applicator (I think it is of Golden, maybe there are more brands?). I feel that my beloved neocolor II-crayons don’t work so well on stretched canvas: I can’t push the crayons very hard: because the canvas does not give enough ‘push-back’. I need something else to make fine lines.
Thank you for your visit!,
Simone

So fascinating to watch a painting develop. I loved your first photos of the starts of these paintings—they were magnificent enough to hang as is.
Now, look at the blues, greens, blacks, and whites you’ve added—spectacular!
What I am especially loving is seeing all the painting you’ve done since last September, when I first met you, now manifesting itself on a much larger screen. You are so fully present in this new work.
I just got home yesterday from being away, which included a few days of not painting. When I saw your post today, I walked right into my studio, put the 30×30″ canvas I bought in early July up on my easel, and started moving some paint around. Thank you for inspiring me!
Hi Dotty!
Thank you!
Makes me really curious, your’ 30” canvas. I hope to see some of it soon on your blog!
Isn’t it fun that we are already one year inspiring each other through cyberspace?
bye,
Simone
