Dear readers,
After a very busy day of hard work I decided to work on my big not-so-pink-anymore-painting. I did not have the courage to work on the more strenuous task of Jane Davies’ assignments (however interesting and important they are!)
So I picked up some big brushes and started to work. Again I got the feeling of working very free and inspired. At times I started to feel more in my head, and then I remembered: okay, just go on, just play with paint, don’t worry, you can’t go wrong, things always can turn out another way, you can’t get stuck because the road is always winding and finding its way.
I think this is maybe the most important thing that I learn of painting: to trust Life: that I can always go one step further, and after that another step further, and I can’t go wrong. Life itself will show me how to proceed.
Hmm: would be nice if I would be able to experience that every day 😉
Today I used a lot of titanium white, and also I added Golden Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, Green Gold and Cobat Turquoise (fluid acrylics) like I used to do in the smaller paintings of a while ago. I also started to use ochre and brown crayons. I like the combination of teal/turquoise and more earthy colours like ochre and brown.
Let’s find out where this will end! It is definitely not finished, not even getting shape, but I already see interesting textures. See the details for that.
Bye, and thanks for your visit!
Simone
Thanks Dotty!
Simone, everything about this post is a gift to me! I am fascinated visually as I witness the evolution of this painting, and I am SO grateful for the accompanying discussion. YES! That knowing that comes from painting, knowing “you can’t go wrong, things always can turn out another way, you can’t get stuck because the road is always winding and finding its way”—the best, such a terrific way to learn through the physical act of painting ways that we can be in the bigger picture of our lives.
