Kunst

Dear readers,

Today it was a little bit a frustrating day. The first half an hour or so I was busy with all sorts of mundane things. Searching things (where is my very thin pencil?), and fixing a spraypaint bottle that is broken (? – the paint does not come out, I guess I have to buy new caps). Further on the yellow crayon kept on coming through the white paint which I did not want. Etcetera, etcetera.

Still I worked further on the white painting. It is still not finished – hmmm. I hope there is not too much finetuning to do, otherwise I will get frustrated by it. While that one was drying I worked further on a painting that already had some layers, and then I worked on the third and to finish up the paint. Below I post a little video about the three paintings that are standing crammed into my ‘studio’ (can I call it like that?) (Keep your head 90 degrees to the left, since I forgot to turn it, and do not have time to fix that right now;-))

I hope this also works as encouragement for people who want to paint big but think they do not have the space. I think my space is about 2 meters/2,5 meters…And my paintings 1/1 meter ;-)

Have a nice day!

    Thanks, Dotty!
Good that you got out of your ‘slump; (beautiful word – I guess it is the same as it sounds …)

LOVE hearing your voice! And it was really fun to watch your video to see how your paintings are progressing and to see your workspace (“very small”)—yes, encouraging to see that working big (or small, for that matter) can take place just about anywhere. I laughed with empathy as you enumerated your frustrations! Been there, done that. I am eager today to get to my own studio (tiny converted bedroom). I was in a slump over the weekend but feel optimistic this morning. I love seeing all the quiet space you’ve created in your white painting.
