Kunst

Dear readers,

It has been quite a while since I have been writing an artblog. The reason: I had sort of a long spring-vacation in the south of France. We camped in our wonderful 33-years old ‘vouwwagen’ (it was cold!) and had a great time hiking in this beloved part of France. Below you see a photo of the four of us just in front of the pont d’Arc. A natural bridge above the river Ardeche – in summer it is super busy with tourists, but now the space was ours.

Yesterday was also special: the exhibition of my paintings closed, and I took al my paintings home. It was nice to see them again! The upcoming days I will send or bring the paintings to their purchasers. And for now: just keep on painting!

I realized today again that having a rhythm in painting is key. If I would not have this ‘promise’ I keep with myself, there would be thousands of other things to do. But now I get out my paints and Do Something.

Below you see the results. Simply trying out things on copy paper. Not working towards results so much just starting up after a long period away. So nice to do!

Hope to see you tomorrow!

    Hi Dotty,
Haven’t even answered your comment on this blog in the busyness of the past few days. Thank you for always keeping up with my painting!

Yay! You are back! I loved knowing you were off camping as a family, enjoying time together out in nature (terrific photo of you four!), and now I love having you back painting and blogging.

I am so happy for the gift of seeing your bright colors, scribbles, shapes, marks, and free-play again! Today’s simply-trying-out-things-on-copy-paper painting is cheerful, holds a delicious balance between simplicity and complexity, and brightens my day.

I appreciate your mention of the promise you keep with yourself. I am hanging on to my own such promise by only a thread right now!
