Dear reader,
This postcard was made very quickly. I didn’t feel like painting this morning – I wasn’t in a very happy mood. Then I decided: okay, let’s paint anyway! Only two colors – I kept it simple.
And I started with writing down my unhappy thoughts and feelings with a black marker, adding a layer of opaque and translucent paint, adding more writing (now with a white marker), adding crayon marks, more paint, more marks.
And in the end – something appeared…
 Here’s the result:
bye!

Yes indeed—something appeared! Something very appealing to my eye! Your postcard reminds me of the glories of a limited palette. The ‘image’ in the center of your postcard evokes thoughts of gritted teeth, perhaps signifying the ‘not very happy mood’ in which you began painting; the overall feeling of the postcard as a whole, though, for me is one of healthy release and catharsis. Keep painting!
Thanks, Dotty, that’s what I really need today – keep painting (literally with paint, or metaphorically with my life). Stay in the flow, keep showing up, and let unfold what arises in the moment.
Thanks again for your encouragement!
