Daily Painting: A square collage

Daily painting

Dear reader,

I don’t work on a square size very often when making collage (when I paint I almost always work on square format). I think because the postcards and the business cards that I use as substrate have this rectangular size.

Today I cut a postcard into a square, and this is the result. It might make it into my course.

Bye!

Simone

Simone, I noticed the square shape almost immediately! I love the ‘exchange of information’ between the top and bottom halves of this piece—feels like they’re in a conversation with each other, and I’m sitting with them turning my attention back and forth, back and forth as they speak.

Thank you! Indeed, it was a back and forth between the ‘busy’ down part, and the ‘quiet’ upper part.
