Dear reader,
Today I painted big again (or at least: bigger). 30/30 cm (12/12 “) feels BIG to me right now!
Yesterday I have been looking at paintings of Danish artist Line Juhl Hansen. She has disappeared from the Internet since 2012, and her blog is offline now. I don’t know what happened to her – I hope nothing is wrong – but her paintings are still on the internet, so everybody can enjoy them en get inspired. I have a Pinterest Board dedicated to her paintings, so if you want you can take a look.
What I love about Line’s work is:
- the layeredness
- the use of only few colors
- the rough and bold strokes
I woke up early this morning, still inspired, and I sneaked out of bed and painted. Lovely to be painting bigger again!
Simone

oooo, this holds essence of Simone in every direction! Fun to see this big(ger) painting today, with its textures, layers, rough bold strokes, and limited palette. Pulls me right in.
Thanks, Dotty!
It was indeed so much fun to paint big again. I love painting small, but big is great too! I’m lucky that I don’t need to choose ;-)
