Daily Painting: Combinations

Daily painting

Dear readers,

A while ago I bought painting cardboard of 20″/26″.

I wanted to paint on square format, so I cut off a piece of 20″/6″

I divided this one in three pieces of 6/”6″, and in between there were two ‘bookmarks’ of 6″/1″.

At first I started on the one big stripe, I used masking tape to ‘mask’ the two bookmarks, later on I cut out the 6″/6″ pieces.

See the photo’s below!

  1. The 6″/20″ stripe
  2. The three paintings of 6″/6″
  3. The bookmarks in between

And after that, you’ll find two paintings of mine, in four kind of compositions. I’m not very good at math anymore, but how many combinations would there be?

Bye!

Simone

Your combinations and permutations and cutting and mixing and matching and playing are SO inviting! Yesterday I especially felt a loss of playfulness in my studio—now I feel encouraged that it might return. Grateful.
