Daily painting: Contrast in Collage

Kunst

Dear reader,

Today I used the last scraps of one piece of collage paper that I have been using the last few days. So tomorrow I will have to dive again in the catacombs of the drawer with old paintings.

I didn’t add any Indian Ink or white marker today. At a certain point, I liked it as it was, so I decided to not add any frills to it.

The contrasts that I saw today:

  • Black versus white
  • Straight lines versus crooked lines
  • Warm colors versus cool colors
  • A big piece of only one color (black) versus smaller pieces of mixed colors.
  • Tissue paper (more texture) versus normal paper (less texture).

I like the cross -figure that arose in the upper middle part.

I definitely like this collage making!

bye, have a lovely day!

Simone

    Thanks, Dotty!

Actually, I have been thinking quite a while if you can say catacombs in English…!

I never get tired of witnessing your process and explorations. Your discussion of contrasts today was instructional in the best way, a gentle tap on my muse’s shoulder : )

Loved your reference to the catacombs!
