Dear reader,
Today I bumped into the problem of using crayons too early. The Caran d’Ache neocolor II crayons are water-soluble, which means they mix well with acrylic paint (better than oil or wax-based crayons). The problem, however, is, that if you use them too early, you can’t paint them over with white anymore so easily. The crayons mix with the white and create a pale color – which I did not want. I wanted bright white.
This is especially true with some strong pigments, like black or magenta.
You can prevent this mixing by putting a layer of a matte medium in between. But that one is finished in my case. I have to buy another bottle.
So this is it for today ;-). Was not too happy with the result, bit since this is an ongoing journey, it is all in the game.
Bye!
