Is there life after Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold?
I doubt it!
Yesterday I finished a series of collage postcards that I made from scraps of one particular old painting. It is gone now, so I had to take another one. I dived into the drawer, and found a very old painting, in which I had not used Quin Gold yet. It did not have that beautiful warm glaze that I love so much. But still: it looked nice. I could challenge myself and made a collage without Quin Gold.
And it turned out well, I think. Still, I miss the warm tones, so I might use a bit of Quin Gold Monday, to warm up the scraps a bit. We’ll see!

I’m getting a chuckle out of imagining your life without quin gold!
My studio time is still about five hours away, but you’ve got me eager to paint. I don’t know what I’ll do today except that I’ll probably return to the pieces of my in-progress quick-&-quixotic series … and I may try using old paintings as collage!
