Daily Painting: Lifting paper repurposed

Daily painting

Dear reader,

Today I felt ‘busy’… (whatever that may be). But I wanted to paint, so I took a piece of ‘lifting paper’ (paper that I use to lift paint from paintings). I cut out a ‘window’ in the size of a business card:

Then I added a tiny bit of black paint, and some black and white paint marker, and voila:

Bye!

Simone, something about this little business card piece lets me feel in my own hands the experiential satisfaction of painting the black paint on the paper and making dots, stripes, and ovals with paint markers! And this statement of yours resonates with me: Today I felt ‘busy’… (whatever that may be). I’m smiling at the connection between your feeling ‘busy’ and your cutting a small piece of paper that is business card size … business = busy + ness, of course!

Thanks, Dotty! Indeed, it’s a lovely experience to just keep that marker in your hands and make dots and stripes. Especially since I fill the markers with Golden High Flow acrylics – then it’s the same kind of paint as the rest. Works really well.
And indeed: making a busyness-card immediately made my day less busy ;-)
