Daily Painting: Quin and Green Turquoise

Daily painting

Dear reader,

Today I was tempted not to paint since I had a doctor’s appointment in the morning, and my workday was already half gone when I sat behind my desk. But I painted something really quick, with Green Gold and Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, and Indian ink and crayons.

I asked myself why I always use Quin Gold and Green Turquoise. I was looking for my crayons to pick the best color to use on top of the Quin Gold, and again I ended up with Green Turquoise (teal).

I wondered why. I simply like them of course, but what I also like is the contrast they make. The warm and the cold color make each other stronger.

bye!

Simone, that little bit of green gold with the quin gold is very appealing here—it makes this piece come together. As I muck about in my studio with a fussy project that is decidedly NOT coming together, your quick splash of creativity is an invitation.
