Daily Painting: Simplicity and Complexity

Daily painting

Dear reader,

 

Today I worked on a small A5 painting. I only used two bottles of paint: Quinacridone Nickel Azo Gold, and Turquoise Phtalo from Golden (and carbon black and titanium white of course). And one crayon (green turquoise of Caran d’Ache Neocolor II).

I like to combine simplicity and complexity. Simplicity in Color and complexity in marks and layers.

    Simone, your blog post title is the perfect précis: simplicity and complexity. Magnificent. Love looking at the detail photos that give me even greater perspective on the depth and visual interest of layers and layers. I always feel lifted up by your painting : )
