Daily Painting: Six Paintings, Day 12

Daily painting

Dear reader,

 

Today another big painting day. Compared to yesterday, this felt freer, but I have a few questions: isn’t the composition too boring, and are only three colors (turquoise, magenta, and quinacridone nickel azo gold, with a touch of yellow): is that enough to make a painting interesting?

When I look to the painting I already made (Painting 1, not finished) I now see what’s the difference between them. In that painting, I mixed all three colors up, and then a greyish, brownish color appears. That’s giving the colors more depth. Going to try that out next week.

(ps: I’ll post both half-finished paintings, below (first the second, then the third). You might have to enlarge the paintings to see this greyish color, it’s for instance visible in the left circle below.
