Dear readers,
Today I worked on another layer of painting 2 in the series of six.
Today I had a revelation. I think I silently hope for more ‘interesting’ compositions to come out of me. More exciting, more asymmetric composition. Especially asymmetric. But what comes out is a painting with Blobs. All the paintings that I make are full with blobs.
On my collages I get more ‘interesting’ compositions. But not on the big paintings (up till now).
Today I thought: you know what? I like the blobs! I’m going to paint them without my ‘grownup thoughts’, and just be the child I am inside.
Bye!
Simone
ps: I post below the photos of day 20 and day 21.Â
I am so enjoying the day-by-day journey, Simone, both your painting and your internal dialog. Way back at the beginning of this painting, you did collaging, yes? Is that what contributes to the eye-catching texture I see now?
To answer your last question: Yes! There is a layer of crackled newspaper underneath. I indeed like the texture too. It makes painting sometimes difficult, since if I want to draw a straight line, the texture makes it crooked anyway. I guess that adds to the charm of the painting. Fun that you can see the texture so well on the photo, by the way!
