Dear reader,
This week I got a bit of stress: first I was quite convinced that I had all the time of the world, and at the beginning of this week I thought: hmm, only 4 weeks to go! So I decided I wanted to finish at least three of the six paintings (They were all more or less 80 % done).
The fun thing is: I finished them all. Once I had in mind that they did not need to be perfect, but juist could be themselves, imperfect like everything on earth is imperfect.
So Thursday I was ready with them all. I painted the sides and added some finishing linework.
Today I took out a stack of old paintings. Maybe some of them will make it to the exhibition, too.
Below, I’ll show you all the photo’s of the series of six.
Bye!

Simone: congratulations! I love this story! If I am understanding correctly, you gave yourself permission to complete fewer paintings than you’d originally planned, and then that opened space and new perspectives in you, and the end result was that you have now completed all six paintings after all, yes? Each one has a distinct personality and energy while at the same time they make a lovely interrelated series. Again I say: congratulations!
Hi Dotty,
Not exactly: I was sure I wanted to finish 6 paintings, and I had promised to finish three last week (so I would not get in a hurry in the end). This seemed impossible at first, but later I found out that I could finish them all.
Thanks for your congratulations! I indeed believe they are a fun ‘family’ together!
