Daily Painting: Using Musical Notes

Kunst

Dear reader,

It is very seductive to skip my daily practice of painting after coming back from my holidays – because of all the work and e-mails that have been piling up.

I started anyway on a tiny pink card, and this time I used something that I have been thinking about for a while. I never used it though because I was afraid that it would turn out too ‘kitsch.’ Pieces of musical notes on paper!

I always like the contrast between black and white, and since my white crayon is gone, and the white acrylic marker does not always do what I want, I thought: let’s use collage.

I took the first the best scrap of paper I had: musical notes!

I actually like it – even though part of me still thinks it is kitsch…

bye!

Simone

I had! I was indeed really proud of myself that I did not get lost in my post-vacation chaos and skip my practice ;-)

Welcome home, Simone! So glad you picked up your practice and painted today, even with the temptation to tend to the backwash of post-vacation STUFF hanging over you. Great idea to get some white into your painting by using sheets of printed music—instant contrast! Hope you had a terrific time on holiday.
