Dear readers,
Today I continued working on Fridays ‘start’. In the middle I sometimes think: ‘This is going nowhere’. But as I go on long enough – always something comes out.
The nice thing about acrylic paint is: if you don’t like it, you can paint over it so easily. Or over parts of it, or just make some strokes that change the whole thing – giving new possibilities.
And even though it’s only paint and paper, I can sometimes feel: ‘it’s such a pity of all those beautiful layerd parts, if I’m going to paint over them, they’re all lost forever. But the nice thing is: you can put layers on top of that again, just for fun, until it feels right. If I would be a poet, I could make a poem out of it. But I’m not – and certainly not in English ;-)!
The important thing is to have fun while doing it. Not make such a serious thing out of it. I sometimes tend to do that, but when I paint daily, this tendency lessens. I could make a poem out of this, too. See above!
Below you see today’s final result.
Time to start (the rest of) my day.
Have a beautiful one, too!

Thank you for starting (the rest of) MY day, Simone, which like your painting already has many layers, in my case layers of walking, listening to the end of a book, and sewing buttons onto a banner. Your talk of layers and of the poetry of painting layers just for fun opens my heart to the poetry of living my day just for fun!
Yay, that’s exactly what I mean (and what I need to hear every single day ;-)!)
Bye!
