Daily Painting: First experiments in gelli printing

Daily painting

Dear reader,

This week I have been finishing six smaller old paintings. Two series of three.

The three paintings on top are 20/20″ each.

Thre three paintings below are 16/16″ each.

Furthermore, I have been experimenting with gelli printing. I want to exhibit some smaller work, too, but this is not ready yet. But gelli printing is absolutely fascinating! I’m certain that I am going to take this further.

Below I’ll show you two semi-finished gelli prints (6/6″ each), and also two pieces with first layers. The photo’s are not upright, one way or another they turned over, and it’s too much work to turn them back ;-).

Happy weekend!

Bye!

Simone, you’ve been busy in your studio—to great effect! I am sitting with my dad at ‘his’ local coffee shop in Maine where I keep scrolling through the photos of all your paintings on the large screen of my laptop. So much fun to explore the nooks and crannies of your creations.

I have taken note of the sorely neglected gelli plate in my studio several times recently—you may inspire me to get it active again.

Yes, I believe this gelli printing is going to bring a lot of fun in the near future, when I have finished all the paintings for the exhibition. I’m looking forward to that!
