Dear reader,
Â
Today I got into the flow again. By accident I ran into an old sketchbook of my daughter, that she gave me. Still half empty. It’s A3 – format, so I could make some paintings on a medium sized format, on drawing paper. I loved it, I mixed paint and crayon, in my usual colors. I am going to use this artist diary more, I believe. It’s a nice way to just try out things, while keeping things in order and keeping track of development. Stay tuned!
(The dots stem from a piece of bubble plastic, that happened to lay on my working table. Never used something like this before, I always found it a bit ‘artificial’. But now I like it!)
Â
Bye,

Love that you happened upon an artist diary! I love seeing today’s exploration set in the context of your studio! I love the creamy richness of the gray neocolor crayon circle (my hand can FEEL itself drawing that circle, can FEEL the creamy richness!). I love that your exploration today might inform my own (I am in SUCH muddy muddled discomfort with my painting this week!).
Right now, I’m off to have a cup of coffee while overlooking the harbor in early morning sunshine : )
It’s fun, but the results of your muddy discomfort don’t look like that at all! I hope (no, I know!) you enjoy your view of the harbor!
Indeed: the gray neocolor was very rich, because I just heated the paper and the crayon with the hairdryer, which always makes for a very rich and creamy effect.
