Kunst

Dear readers,

Today I continued to work on a 70/90 cm painting (28/36″) that I have been working on for ages. It has been painted over soooo many times, I don’t even count it anymore. It has become kind of a ‘playcanvas’ – I don’t take myself so serious anymore on it. I don’t think it will stay like this, but it turned out better than I thought ;-)

have a wonderful day. And: as always: thank you for taking the time to read this!

Simone

Yes! I understand so much this whole thing of getting ‘precious’. Great idea to start with making a mess: that takes the pressure of ;-)!

Simone, I like this! And I like that you have a large playcanvas. I think I need to get another one (or more) going. As you know, I worked on one off and on from July through the end of December. It now sits on my bedroom dresser and I like it each time I see it; like your canvas it went through so many layers I lost count. Not only do I like the final outcome but I also like the reminder it provides of the gifts of process and play. Your current painting offers the same gift of a reminder. I started putting color on paper yesterday and could feel myself getting ‘precious’ almost immediately, which felt so odd after having been so free with the painting I’d been working on up until yesterday. I know what the difference is: I have an idea of where I want the new painting to go, what I want it to be. Not gonna work! I think I need to go mess it up first thing today.

Thank you for your art, yours posts, and the above aha moment!
