Dear readers,
Today I did a very interesting exercise, that I got from Flora Bowley. To get out of the ‘stuck’ feeling that I had last friday.
I took a piece of (wall!)paper, 50/50 cm (20/20 inch), and painted for 10 minutes with a timer, then stopped, turned the paper 90 degrees, painted again, turned again. Did this four times. Made pictures in between (forgot it one time, so here below you see three pictures.
Not finished yet, don’t know if it get finished, but I had tremendous fun and did not think about results for 1 minute. Part of the assignment was that after every turn you had to cover 3/4 of the painting again. It was an exercise to practice non-attechment and letting go of product-oriented painting.
Really nice to do!
have a nice day, and hope to see you tomorrow,
Simone

Hi Dotty!
Nice indeed, that you did the same exercise.
The process is not so different. But the fact that I set a timer helps, and the other fact, that I have to cover up 75 % helps too. I don’t have to worry so much about what I do, it will get covered anyway ;-)
Also having to rotate it with a certain fixed mode helps: no decisions to make, just painting on!
Simone, I just went back to look at my own blog to see my posts about doing this same Flora Bowley exercise! What fun to see your progress through the steps of rotating the page and covering at least 3/4 of the surface each time.
I’m curious, how different is the Flora Bowley exercise from the process you go through with any of your other daily paintings?
