Dear readers,
This art journal is already now a blessing. Working in it is not product-oriented, so it gives me a lot of freedom to simple sit and play. And all of a sudden new things start to happen. Joyful and carefree it feels to me.
The small size also gives me the possibility to work with expensive paint without going broke. Wow! So nice, makes such a difference!
I just found out that the journal has pages that you can tear out (because there is a ‘something’, (perforation or so?) that makes it easy that the pages come off). I will probably have to buy another one, and I might also get another bigger one. So I can change sizes according to how much time I have.\
bye!
Simone

‘Tooth’ is a real expression, I think, but it refers to the texture of the surface of the paper and how it interacts with the paints and crayons; for example, watercolor paper and canvas have a lot of tooth, but yupo paper (which I’ve never used!) is very smooth, I think.
Perforation is the right word for the tiny holes that allow you to tear a page out easily.
I love that you’re already feeling attached to your journal!
Ah, now I know how you say that. ‘Tooth’. Is that a real expression?
I don’t know if I can keep this journal because of its ‘teeth’. If all the pages fall out it is a pity. But now after two days I already feel attached ;-)
Simone, I love your journal—it is already now a blessing to me, too! Your joyful carefree feelings shine through your paintings. What a gift that you are feeling freedom, playfulness, and possibility.
The photo is fun because I can see a hint of yesterday’s painting on the left. I can also understand now what was confusing me yesterday—the line of perforation. The paper appears to have lovely ‘tooth’.
I feel like I’ve just started reading a great book … I’m eager to turn the page and discover what’s next.
