Hi Dotty!
What a great idea to start working on your new canvases. For me it works good to just start with scratching with a pencil, random marks, and then adding a transparant colour (or the other way around) – in this case quinocridone nickel azo gold – which is always beautiful and a warm start for a painting.
But: there are thousands of possibilities to start, and each one works (probably everything gets covered over soon ;-))
It is indeed another series of three.
bye!
Simone
Simone, good to have you back! Hope you enjoyed the holiday weekend; I KNOW you enjoyed your return to painting! Your starting these new paintings today, and saying “the start is always easy” = perfect for me. My son Scott gave me two 12/24″ (30/60 cm) canvases for my birthday. I haven’t worked that large or on canvas in ages, and I was surprised at how quickly I felt a contraction of angst when I thought of actually unwrapping them and starting! I think I just need to get in there and GO.
Love that you’re playing around with more neutrals this time.
How many will be in this series? 3?
