Dear readers,
Today I finished yesterday’s painting (30/30 cm, or 12/12 “). While I yesterday thought it was going nowhere, today I sprayed spraypaint on it, and used some white paint, and suddenly it changed so much for me. I only added a little bit of crayon and some splashes of Indian Ink and that was it.
After that I worked further on a first layer of a second painting, same size. Being inspired by Nancy Willis, who uses her brushes very freely – I did the same with the black paint.
And: the last discovery (just arrived in the mail this weekend): the molotov marker. Just tried it for a second, and it looks very promising.
Thank you for reading! And I hope you have a very good creating day yourself.
Simone
ps: below I post a photo of 1) today’s (more or less) finished painting, 2) first layer of another, and 3) detail of the Molotov marker.

Thanks Dotty, as always!
Great that you go to your studio, even though calamities are keeping you away. Not having any pretentious plans is a great start (I did not have these today, that surely helps! ;-))
(I’ll write you back soon, hopefully today – lots of other work over here!)
Simone, I love the magic of today’s adventure with spray paint; love that the painting changed for you, and in just one day: ta da!
And then you moved on to a new piece where I see and enjoy your using your brush very freely with the black paint. Also love your use of the new Molotow marker.
I hope your energy and forward motion are contagious today; I have just completed the 30-day challenge AND I have several very insistent calamities and responsibilities that need attention. Nonetheless, I plan to get to my studio. I may just grab an old painting and cover it with new free-wheeling color brushed on quickly and intuitively.
