Dear readers,
Today I have been working further on two big paintings. Only adding more layers and more complexity to the paintings. No particular shapes are appearing yet, I wait patiently!
Bye,
Simone
ps: Nicholas Wilton has written a really interesting blogpost (actually: it is a video). He talks about combining two paintings to one (or: breaking up a very large painting in two). I found that very inspiring. An interesting way to work really big.

Hi Dotty,
Yes indeed, they are MUCH fun to paint.
No, I don’t have a designated hairdryer, somebody gave me once a second hairdryer and since then it became my ‘painting-dryer’. Bringing my paintings to the bathroom is not an option ;-)
Yes, I absolutely use them more than bristle brushes. What I like about them is the way you can paint without seeing the brushstroke so much. And: they are cheaper: bristle brushes are quite expensive, at least the ones that you buy in an art supply store. The drawback is that they wear out, after a while you have to throw them away.
You are right about the month/date, it was a typo, I have fixed it, thanks for noticing!
Simone, you’re on a roll, and these paintings are so much fun to look at and look like so much fun to paint.
Love seeing the paintings in your studio space; love seeing the hairdryer! Do you have a designated hairdryer for painting? I usually bring my paintings (much smaller than yours!) to the bathroom where my hairdryer is plugged in : )
I notice several foam brushes. Do you use them more than bristle brushes?
computer note: In the boldface heading above, the month and year appear, but not today’s date.
